Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association : GBWBA Office
Wheelchair basketball is probably one of the oldest established wheelchair sports, its roots going back to the late 40's/early 50's. Although initially a rehabilitation and recreational activity for spinal cord injured patients, it quickly developed into a competitive sport and today the National Wheelchair Basketball League consists of 65 teams playing in 7 Divisions. Wheelchair Basketball embraces a wide range of disabilities including paraplegics, spina bifida, amputees, brittle bones, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Able bodied players are eligible to play in divisions 2, 3 and 4. Virtually everyone who can conceivably play wheelchair basketball is encouraged to do so.

Rockvale Rebound : Talking Newspaper serving Dumbarton and Vale of Leven
Rockvale Rebound produces weekly tapes using items gleaned from the Dumbarton Reporter and Lennox Herald, and also issues the following titles:
"On the Rebound" is a monthly magazine supplement on a C90 cassette. This tape includes a mix of news items, information from the Royal Institute for the Blind, stories, health topics, travel information and "forthcoming events".
"Rebound Roundabout" is a monthly magazine supplement produced by some of our registered blind members and consists of interesting interviews on topical and historical subjects in and around Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven, Cardross, Milton and Bowling.

Scottish Disability Sport : Scottish Disability Sport
Scottish Disability Sport introduces individuals with disabilities to sport through its local development programmes at foundation and participation level.
The association has a squad system for specific sports that offers the opportunity for disabled sports people, with commitment and talent, to experience the highest level of coaching. The squads provide preparation for involvement at UK, international and Paralympic level.
The classification system used focuses on the ability of individuals, rather than their disability. It offers the opportunity for disabled people to enjoy competitive sport for many years and it has been responsible for the very high levels of participation in sports such as swimming and athletics

decaying Scottish Lowland Waterways. Initially cruises ran from Ratho on the Union Canal but there are now a total of
four branches located in Scotland Cruising takes place on a daily basis, including weekends, during the months of April to October and
the duration of the cruise is in accordance with local conditions and the wishes of the user group.
