Renton Integrated Healthy Living Centre
YES (Your Enablement Service) now based at new centre in Renton
YES, offering an invaluable service for physically disabled people from across the Lomond district, is now operating out of the recently opened Renton Integrated Healthy Living Centre. Here, the YES team, comprising GP, Physiotherapist, and Occupational Therapist, see YES patients. In addition, the Centre houses two GP practices. Dr Stevenson & Partners hold surgeries for patients registered with the practice; Dr McCrae and Partners hold surgeries for patients registered with their practice. The Centre is able to accommodate other outside agencies but currently the only other service covered is Podiatry, which is available for the whole locality. It is expected that eventually the Centre will accommodate groups tackling a range of health issues. With YES, the GP practices, the supplementary health services, as well as a pharmacy next door, the smart new Renton building should provide a boost for quality healthcare in the district.
The new Centre for Argyll and Lomond NHS Trust, Scotland's first community-owned Integrated Healthy Living Centre, was undertaken as part of the Renton Community Pilot Regeneration with funding from Communities Scotland's Wider Role fund. The construction was managed by Cordate Housing Association.
Resource Centre
The YES User Group meets at the Renton Centre and operates a part-time drop-in Resource Centre for YES patients. The Resource Centre is equipped with two Internet-connected computers which can be booked for a modest fee. The User Group needs help with the supervision of the Resource Centre and is looking for volunteers. Can you help? If you are a patient, would you like to be a member of the User Group? Please email info@enablement.info if interested.
